Coming into the Belmont Stakes, Ottinho had just one win to date but had never finished out of the money, including a runner-up effort in the Grade 1 Blue Grass. A half-brother to 2017 Horse of the Year Gun Runner, Ottinho is a homebred for Three Chimneys Farm.
