2025 Belmont Stakes Contenders

Horse Profile: Heart of Honor

British-bred Heart of Honor finished fifth in the Preakness when making his stateside debut and could improve with the seasoning. The Honor A.P. dark bay was fractious in the gate and off a step slow, traveling last-of-9 and 15 lengths back through three-quarters, before closing mildly for an 8 3/4-length fifth.

His career-best effort came in April, a narrow defeat in the Group 2 UAE Derby in April at Meydan.

Heart of Honor looks to join a select group of British-breds to win the Belmont, most recently done by Celtic Ash in 1960. Jockey Saffie Osborne, riding for her father Jamie, seeks to join Hall of Famer Julie Krone [Colonial Affair, 1993] as the second female jockey to win the Belmont Stakes.
