Pick 6 carryover of $13K for Saturday’s Winter Starter Championships card at Aqueduct Racetrack
Saturday’s Winter Starter Championships card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $13,950 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $1,550.06 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Friday's Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 3 with a win from Timaeus [No. 7, $3.50*] in a 6 1/2-furlong claimer with jockey Ruben Silvera aboard for trainer Rudy Rodriguez.
Trainer Antonio Arriaga sent out the next winner as the Dalila Rivera-piloted Master Freud [No. 3, $27.76] upset a six-furlong New York-bred optional claimer, in Race 4. The next race saw jockey Manny Franco and New York-bred Solomini’s World [No. 9, $21.46] win a seven-furlong maiden claimer for trainer Jamie Begg, in Race 5.
In Race 6, Ricardo Santana, Jr., and Punchoutandgohome [No. 7, $17.46] held off a late rally from Venetta to win a 6 1/2-furlong state-bred maiden for trainer Bruce Levine. In Race 7, a nine-furlong optional claimer, the dual Eclipse Award-winner Brad Cox-trained New York-bred Wynstock [No. 6, $8.30] was victorious under Franco.
With the carryover guaranteed ahead of the Race 8 finale, a seven-furlong claimer, the Santana, Jr.-ridden Nantz [No. 4, $11.54] drew off impressively for conditioner Carlos Martin.
Saturday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 4 at approximately 2:51 p.m. Eastern and features Winter Starter Championships races, contested by horses that have started for a prescribed claiming price in 2025-26. First post for the nine-race card is 1:20 p.m.
